I provide guitar lessons to beginning or lower-intermediate adults, ages 18 and up. Lessons are customized to your level of knowledge and focus on increasing your ability to play the songs you're interested in playing. By doing-so, you'll learn chord and scale structures, rhythmic strumming and hints to making your playing more enjoyable. Optional topics include tab reading (suggested) or note reading, if desired. Both Electric and Acoustic guitars are welcome.

First 30-minute lesson: Free - we will discuss your goals, set up a lesson plan based on those goals, and get a chance to get to know each other. 

General prices

30-minute lesson: $30

60-minute lesson: $55

Location

Lessons are held in South Austin either at South Austin Music Rooms (4800 S. 1st) or at my home in the Slaughter/I-35 area.

If you prefer to have lessons in your home, costs will vary depending on the travel distance from the Slaughter/I-35 area (approximately $.25 a mile). 

If you are in a band with Heather Webb's Jam Room, I offer a $5 discount on all lessons. 

Lessons are paid-for at the time of the lesson using cash, PayPal or Venmo. 

There are not typically any fees related to textbooks as we tend to use digital documents that can be downloaded and printed. 

Don't have a guitar? I have limited guitars available for rental. Also, I can help you purchase a guitar that will be your partner as you learn technique instead of one that will fight you every step of the way. There are bad guitars out there that will make learning very difficult, but happily, they can be avoided if you know what to look for.

I can offer workshops/lessons on songwriting and home recording. Based on your needs, we will build a lesson plan to provide you with the knowledge to create effective lyrics and match them to music. Similarly, if you're wanting to build your own home studio, we can work together to set up a plan so you can effectively record your music. As these workshops are custom-designed and can be of varying legnths, costs will be discussed as we build the plan to match your needs. In general, the costs will be similar to the rates shown for music lessons.
